We at Sure Sales & Lettings were proud sponsors of Kevin Davies and Owain Davies as they competed in Rali Ceredigion, the highest profile international motorsport event In Wales. The local driver and co-driver came 7th in their division driving a Volkswagen Polo R5 (pictured above).
After a successful event in 2022 won by New Zealand driver Hayden Paddon, Rali Ceredigion was back again for 2023 and will be a key round of the Motorsport UK British Rally Championship. Andy Gilmore, Clerk of the Course described the event as "one of the most important motorsport events in Wales, in a territory steeped in British and World Rallying history."
The 2023 edition of Rali Ceredigion consisted of 14 stages run across two days and featured over a hundred miles of special stages – an increase of 16% from last year. Thousands of spectators watched as 120 crews tackled the demanding competitive stages around Aberystwyth with Welsh crew Osian Pryce and Stephane Prevot coming out on top. Aberystwyth Promenade then hosted the ceremonial finish on the 3rd of September.
The event was also a first of its kind to introduce initiatives to minimise the environmental impact of the event including providing spectators the opportunity to contribute towards tree planting, the provision of public transport options and waste recycling on site.
"The event continues to deliver significant economic benefits to the local tourism and hospitality economies in Ceredigion with many of the county’s businesses employing workers in this industry. The organisers are fully committed in introducing new measures to reduce environmental impacts of the event, and as it stands it’s the only rallying event in the UK which runs to the FIA’s Environmental Management accreditation."
