Christmas is returning to Carmarthenshire with a bang this year after a number of events were cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, here is our pick of events happening near you.


Llanelli Christmas Carnival

When: Friday 19th November
Where: Llanelli Town center

This year the town’s Christmas carnival will be a two-day event which will start on Friday, November 19. The carnival procession will leave Festival Fields, Pwll, at 6.15pm, taking its usual route and will arrive in town shortly after the Christmas lights switch-on at 6.45pm. There will be a fun fair in Spring Gardens with a fireworks display marking the finale at 7.40pm.


Christmas Food Festival

When: Saturday 20th November
Where: Llanelli town center

There will be a local food festival as well as street entertainment from 10am

Santa’s Reindeer Parade

When: Saturday the 20th November
Where: Carmarthen town centre

Santa and his reindeers will make their way from Carmarthen Park at 12 noon and travel down Lammas Street, Mansel Street, St Catherine Street, Market Way, Lammas Street, Dark Gate, Guildhall Square, Hall Street, Nott Square, and finally up through King Street.

Carmarthen’s Christmas Light Switch On

When: Saturday 20th November
Where: Carmarthen Town Centre

The town’s Christmas lights being switched on at 4.30pm followed by a fireworks display at the local castle at 5pm.

Visit Santa at Gwili Railway

When: Throughout December
Where: Gwili Railway, Bronwydd, SA33 6HT

Christmas at Dinefwr

When: Every weekend throughout December
Where: Dinefwr, Llandeilo, SA19 6RT

Taste of Christmas

When: 19th and 20th December between 10am and 4.30pm
Where: National botanical garden of wales, Llanarthne SA32 8HN
